Our products are the output of collective efforts of the Changpa nomads, local women artisans including organic dye-makers. Lena, the local name for pashmina, is a Ladakh based eco-friendly brand, that source you hand-made pashmina products. When we say hand-made, we mean traditional shearing comb for removing of pashmina wool, local Phang (wooden spindle) for spinning, long wooden spindle for double twisting, hand drill drum for warping, fly shuttle handloom for weaving and picking up organic dye for dyeing etc. Our cashmere is obtained exclusively from Changra goats (Capra hircus), one of the world’s finest cashmere, which is reared by nomads ( Changpas) in Changthang region of Ladakh in the very high altitude landscape in minus 35 to 40 degree celsius. In making pashmina products, we involve and employ local women artisans and nomads who brings to you an ethical and eco-fashion collection through their art, thus Lena is a platform generating income for almost 120 families at present. Our pashmina shawls are completely processed locally, from procuring of the raw-material to the final finished products, so we are the right source to ensure 100% guaranteed pure.
